What do we do at club meetings? |

Well at last nights club meet we................................ Got the lowdown on RAR, and PAR files.
RAR is currently the most efficient method for compressing files. RAR works like ZIP files do on Windows, and like Stuff-It files do on the Mac. RAR files are 'archives' which can contain one or more compressed files. RAR files can also be segmented into smaller chunks, which allows them to be sent in a series of emails, burned onto a series of disks, or uploaded to a newsgroup in a series of posts
PAR files are able to magically fix, and even re-create missing files (whether or not they are compressed with RAR.) So, you will usually want to check your RAR files with their associated PAR files before decompressing.
We also heard from one of our female members that when using Word to write a document that if the computer is left on standby that possibly
when you return to your document to continue working on it some words can have their letters strangely changed. So even if you have checked for spelling errors the final draft could still show mistakes. So be carefull seems to be the answer if drafting an important missive!
And finally the club is going 21st C, We are to get mobile internet at the club venue (Bailgate Methodist Hall) on the club computer see you there? |
