It's an IBM hard disk made in 1956...for its 305 RAMAC,the first
computer with a hard disk drive (HDD). It weighed over a ton and
stored a 'huge' 5 MB of data !!!!.
We now have a 16 Gigabyte Memory stick weighing less than ounce !
Where to from here ?????????????????

Browsing an old book, I read that Prof Johann von Neumann (born 1903) created a 'calculator' for atomic scientists, a cousin of Electronic Numerical Integrator and Computer (ENIAC).
It could receive and treat 40,000 pieces of information at once, reducing three months' work to 10 hours.
He called the device Mathematical Analyser Numerical Integrator and Computer - MANIAC.
